Glendalough Valley

“The ancient monastic site of Glendalough in the Wicklow Mountains is home to one of Ireland’s best-preserved early medieval round towers. Rising approximately 30 metres above the surrounding valley, the Glendalough Round Tower was built between the 10th and 12th centuries as part of the monastic settlement founded by Saint Kevin. Surrounded by woodland and historic stone structures, the tower remains a central feature of this important early Christian site in County Wicklow, where changing seasonal light and autumn colours highlight the landscape and the long history of the valley.”
